So much for those rumors that Amal Alamuddin would walk down the aisle in Alexander McQueen. The human rights lawyer pulled a fast one and instead donned a custom Oscar de la Renta French lace wedding gown with an off-the-shoulder neckline for her big day with some random actor — and People and Hello! have the photos.
The magazines were granted exclusive access to the George Clooney (ah, yes, that's his name) and Amal Alamuddin nuptials. That means we can only show you the cover photos of them in their wedding garb, but, oh, what photos they are.

As expected, Clooney wore a Giorgio Armani tuxedo accessorized with a gift from his Lebanon-born bride: cufflinks inscribed with "George" in Arabic.
And, what of Alamuddin, whose flurry of impeccable wedding looks has made her the new Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy/new Bianca Jagger/new everything? The fashion plate looked elegant and ethereal in her de la Renta gown; the dress was hand-embroidered with pearls and diamanté accents, with a circular train and a sweeping veil.

The issues, out Wednesday, feature the full wedding album — including shots of guests like Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Bill Murray, and Bono. None, however, seemed to be having as much fun as the groom himself.
"My verdict on being Mr. and Mrs. Clooney? It feels pretty damn great," Clooney told Hello!.
Last but certainly not least, the wedding will be featured in Vogue's October issue. Photographer Annie Leibovitz captured Alamuddin at her final dress fitting with de la Renta. How soon before she gets the cover?
Oh, and how about this tidbit? Every guest went home with an iPod filled with a playlist chosen by the couple and, as Clooney himself joked, "a hangover." Totally worth it.
