Aziz Ansari Can’t Get Blake Lively To Return His Texts

Stars really are just like us. As in, they also get their calls screened and texts left unanswered by supreme hotties. It happens.

Just ask Aziz Ansari, who made the mistake of thinking that having Blake Lively's digits meant that the two of them would become texting buddies. The Parks & Recreation star soon found out that returning texts isn't Lively's top priority.

Ansari shared the embarrassing anecdote with Howard Stern on the radio Monday. The first text was sent on April 30, 2011.

"Hey, it's Aziz," the comedian texted Lively. "The Animal dinners are over now unfortunately but I will show you photos from when I went. It was very tasty. Are you going to the Met Ball?"

No response. Ansari decided to try his luck again, however, after running into Lively at the Met Ball with Karl Lagerfeld.

'Hey it's Aziz," he wrote. "Please tell Karl he needs to call me, it's been too long since we bro'd out." Crickets.

Ansari claims the two bumped into each other at the after-party, which encouraged him to send yet another text.

"I feel so bad you had to fly to North Carolina after that party, it must've been rough," he texted the next day. "Karl and I partied at Boom Boom until 7 a.m. Got tacos the next day after and just had a beautiful spa day. Next time we are in the same city, let's eat delicious food."

Again, crickets. The saga ends with Ansari sending one last-ditch "Happy holidays" text that Christmas, which still received no response.

Ultimately, Ansari decided to stop blowing up Lively's phone. That is, until yesterday, when he texted the blonde beauty that he "read these messages on Howard. Hope that's cool. Doubt you'll respond to this."

As it happens, Lively clearly had other stuff on her mind. While Ansari was busting her chops on Howard Stern, the actress was announcing her first pregnancy with husband Ryan Reynolds. Naturally, that then prompted yet another Ansari message, this time on Twitter.
