In the seven months since Gwyneth Paltrow announced her conscious uncoupling from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, many things have happened on the lifestyle front. Goop is still Goop'ing along while Blake Lively hopped on the bandwagon (with a pregnancy announcement, at that!). Meanwhile, Martha Stewart remained cool as a fresh-from-the-Bedford-farm cucumber, politely throwing shade when shade was due.
What all her sly remarks boil down to is the lifestyle equivalent of Beyoncé's "Bow Down:" Know thy place. Recognize the one who not only paved the way for budding lifestyle doyennes to rise, but who also cleared the road for paving in the first place.

Case in point: page 116 of the November issue of Martha Stewart Living featuring a story titled "Conscious Coupling." It focuses on "the perfect marriage of crust and filling," a pie connoisseurs dream come true. Whether this is just a clever coincidence — perhaps a MSL editor's means of showing how hip-to-the-beat they are — or an intentional reminder of who the real queen is remains unknown. The (gourmet) beef between these two runs deep.
So, until Paltrow fights back, let's kick back and stuff our faces with consciously coupled pies — watching, waiting for the proverbial goop to hit the fan. It's a Goop good thing. (Huffington Post)
