Is Kanye Too “Simple” To Shop For?

There’s been so much speculation about Kim Kardashian’s style evolution ever since she and Kanye West became a thing. Really, we could fill a book with it. (Not to be confused with Kim’s actual upcoming tome of selfies.) But, in a recent interview with the reality star and momma a front-rower, the London Evening Standard revealed that while Kanye’s influence over Kim is up for debate, Kim’s over Kanye’s is not.

“I typically don’t buy him clothes,” Kim says of her husband. “I can buy other things, but clothes are really hard. He likes to dress so simple — you know, he has his favorite jeans…he wears the same thing over and over.” But, like the observant interviewer points out, Kanye is not exactly a sartorial wallflower. And, this prompted us to investigate: Is Kanye too "simple" to shop for?

The short answer: No. The long one: Also, no. We find it hard to believe that a man who appreciates high fashion and risky style as much as Kanye does would rather be gifted a crisp, white T-shirt than something more daring — even if it is a $120 crisp, white T-shirt. We can understand if he's difficult to give a gift to because he's particular and discerning — hey, we can relate to that — but this "so simple" claim deserves a closer look.
