One day soon, we'll all be headed in One Direction — straight to the cinema. And, boy, is it going to be steamy.
The shaggy-haired pop star has inspired more than just a Taylor Swift song. Harry Styles is also the prototype for the bad boy lover, Hardin Scott, in Texas military wife Anna Todd's fan fiction series, After. Now, Paramount is reportedly set to adapt the erotica for the big screen.
Scott also drew inspiration from Fifty Shades of Grey for the steamy fanfic. Scott is portrayed as a "reckless" and "rude" liar who torments his lover, Tessa, which has many readers and One Direction fans fuming.

"[After is] the tale of a girl who is physically, mentally, and emotionally abused by a misogynistic boy, who everyone, and by that I mean EVERYONE, will see as Harry Styles," one fan wrote in a petition on Change.org. "Whether or not the name is changed, everyone will know who it's originally about, and we can't have him portrayed as that."
In an interview with Newsbeat, Scott herself admitted that she doubted Styles would take part in a film adaptation.
"I just wrote the book to entertain myself, " Todd said. "I would like to see Harry in it but I don't think he can really get into that grouchy, rude kind of role."
Following the success of her eBook, the budding author has been tapped to write three more books for a six-figure sum. Meanwhile, Hollywood is chomping at the bit to bring the saucy story to movie theaters. Is Mr. Grey about to meet his match? (The Guardian)
