It's 2014, and people are passing around a nude photo of Kim Kardashian's backside as if it's any ol' snapshot. In fact, the biggest issue people seem to have with Kardashian's Paper magazine cover is whether her butt is authentic or Photoshopped. The fact that Kim is naked doesn't really seem to faze many folks, which is why it's confusing that nudity became a hot topic when actress Alyssa Milano shared selfies of herself breastfeeding her daughter.
Nursing a baby is one of the most natural acts in the world. Still, Milano apparently continues to receive feedback from people who are offended by the selfies she posts of herself feeding her new baby. "Wait! I don't get it. No disrespect to Kim but...people are offended by my breastfeeding selfies & are fine with her (amazing) booty cover?" Milano tweeted. And, lest you think this was a targeted attack at Kim Kardashian, Milano followed up with, "I mean...it really is an unbelievable ass."

Milano's fans were quick to offer explanations on Twitter, which all raised valid points. "Because people are dumb as bricks. They want to sexualize and can't do that with a baby in the photo," @Into_the_Never wrote. "[Y]eah, double standard and misplacement of sexuality. You’re not posting your breastfeeding selfies for sex; it’s for beauty," @candicecd tweeted. "Apparently it bothers people when breasts are useful and not just pretty. People are weird," @BuckeyeAnnie2 responded.
Milano is harnessing fans' support to start a movement by urging followers to tweet their own breastfeeding selfies with the hashtag #NormalizeBreastfeeding. "There are a whole lot of boobies on my Twitter stream. Thanks for sharing, mamas. Thank you for your support. #normalizebreastfeeding," Milano tweeted to moms who had participated thus far.
