It's not often you see Taylor Swift refused a project. But, her potential role in the upcoming Girls Like Us — a film about the lives and careers of Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon, and Carole King — has been nixed.
In an interview with The Sunday Times, a reporter asked Mitchell herself about Swift, who was rumored to play a young Mitchell in the film. “I squelched that!" she told the Times. "I said to the producer, ‘All you’ve got is a girl with high cheekbones. It’s just a lot of gossip, you don’t have the great scenes.’ There’s a lot of nonsense about me in books: assumptions, assumptions, assumptions.”
Variety had reported in 2012 that Swift was being considered for the role. The question now is who would Mitchell have instead? (Sunday Times)
