The Guardian's annual list of the most powerful people in U.K. media has a blank space, baby — and it's got Taylor Swift's name.
But, before we get into all that, let's talk about what a headscratcher the MediaGuardian 100 is. Only four people in the top 10 are actually British: Americans Larry Page of Google, Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, and Tim Cook of Apple comprise the top three spots. Swift (#10) is the only woman in the top 16, and she and English actor and comedian Lenny Henry are the only entertainers in the top 10.

So, what worked in Swift's favor? The Guardian cited her controversial move to pull her music from Spotify this summer as a power play worthy of inclusion. That, and you know, everyone's still humming "Shake It Off" on the way to work.
Though you have to dig deep, some familiar American faces also pop up on the list. Shonda Rhimes comes in at #58, just behind Benedict Cumberbatch (#50). Just making the list are YouTube celeb Zoella (#90), Swifty bestie Lena Dunham (#92), and Kim Kardashian, who takes the last spot at #100.
Okay, Brits, tell us. To whom should we address this care package of Amy Poehler, Jenji Kohan, and Amy Schumer swag?
