The California justice system has acted both fast and furiously. The man who stole a piece of wreckage from the car crash that killed Paul Walker is going to jail. Anthony Edward Janow was sentenced to six months in county jail for the theft. And, while his actions were clearly against the law, they were also in poor taste.
On Tuesday, the 26-year-old pleaded no contest to one felony count of grand theft. His accomplice, 19-year-old Jameson Brooks Witty, was sentenced to six months in jail last summer. The two suspects were swiftly apprehended after stealing the roof panel from the Porsche that killed Walker and close friend, Roger Rodas, one year ago. Despite being warned by a Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy, the two men lifted the piece of wreckage from a tow truck that was stopped at a red light.
Clearly not realizing the severity of their actions, Witty took to social media soon after to brag about what he and Janow had done. "Piece of Paul Walker's car, took it off a tow truck at a stop light," he wrote, sharing a photo on Twitter and Instagram.
The two men were also sentenced to three years of probation following their incarceration. (Yahoo!)
