Anyone who embarks on a new relationship always seeks for the blessing of their significant others' family. When that family just so happens to be the Kennedys, however, that stamp of approval takes on a whole new meaning.
With that said, Miley Cyrus can officially rest easy.
At Tuesday's Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope award ceremony, Rory Kennedy — who is Patrick's mom Maria Shriver's first cousin — told Us Weekly that she approves of Patrick's relationship with the pop star.
"I'm happy for them," she told the magazine. That sentiment is a bit different than what Chris Hemsworth said in a recent interview with GQ, in which he condemned his younger brother Liam's past relationships. "I've watched Liam do things I did at his age, like being in relationships he shouldn't be in, or being reckless just to prove a point," Chris said at the time. "I had no empathy." Liam Hemsworth, if you'll recall, was once engaged to Cyrus.
It's okay, Miley. Although you couldn't win over the Hemsworths, the Kennedys are the next best thing. (Us Weekly)
