Party Pants Vs. Party Dresses: Which People Magazine Awards Look Killed It Last Night?

We’re quick to praise a great pants look on the red carpet. That said, we know they’re not quite as ubiquitous as pretty, delicate frocks. Face it: Dresses twirl beautifully, they photograph well, and they make you feel like a million dollars — we get it. At last night’s People Magazine Awards, though, there was a high concentration of both party pieces. Which prompted us to put together a little face-off — a friendly one, of course.

Upon closer examination, it looks like many of yesterday evening's outfits had common themes. Delicate lace and prints showed up in both frock and jumpsuit form, as did plenty of deep-V plunging necklines. Of course, unlike at People's awards ceremony, everyone is a winner here.
