If you’ve flipped on the TV in the past few weeks, you’re well aware that Anne Hathaway has been fervently promoting her new indie flick, Song One, which opens this Friday. She’s been spotted in a string of fancy dresses on endless talk shows and red carpets, but the Brooklyn resident kept things decidedly casual yesterday for an appearance at the AOL Studios in Greenwich Village.
She was spotted outside her Soho hotel (despite that previously-mentioned Brooklyn residence) doing the denim-on-denim thing, pairing whiskered skinny jeans with a classic, blue-jean button-up. But, let’s be honest here: When you’re dressed in such a head-turning, spotlight-swiping jacket, what you’re wearing underneath matters very little.

Hathaway was sufficiently bundled up for New York City’s cold snap in an Etro blanket coat that was striped in autumnal hues and extra cozy thanks to its oversized fit. With outerwear that snuggly — not to mention stylish — a little winter weather is no excuse to stay indoors. She topped the outfit off with a polka-dotted scarf in coordinating colors, because the only thing more fun than double-denim is mixed prints. We can’t say yet whether her movie’s worth seeing, but we can say this outfit’s worth stealing.
