To varying degrees, photos of celebrities are almost always photoshopped — celebrities on movie posters, in magazine spreads, and as spokespeople for products that make your hair shiny. So, it's not really that crazy that they also take to editing their Instagram pictures. What is surprising, though, is how painfully obvious this often is. Though we'd say Photoshop is an entirely unnecessary addition to these pics (which probably, if we're being honest, are ridiculously gorgeous sans editing or filters) this seems like a relevant moment to invoke Amazing Amy's motto: If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right.
And yet, it continues. People post warped, blurred, funhouse-mirror pics, and no amount of calling-out seems to quell this trend. So many celebrities — and regular people, too — engage in 'shopping their Instagrams with a slightly sloppy hand that there's an entire account dedicated to calling them out. The latest to fall victim to the temptations of Adobe Creative Suite is Lindsay Lohan, whose photo over the weekend resulted in some raised eyebrows. Note the tilted bottles to the right of her stomach:

Either she's discovered a glitch in the matrix, or the commenters are correct — this photo has been through the wringer. Though we can totally understand how celebrities might feel a need to stay consistent with the version of themselves most often presented by media, excessive editing isn't helping anyone be a happier, healthier, more confident person. Sure, Instagram is the land of filters and super-saturation, but a reality check can be a very refreshing thing.
