Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston met when they costarred in 1992's The Bodyguard. They grew so close during filming that Costner delivered a moving eulogy at Houston's funeral after her death in 2012.
"It’s a tree we can all hang from, the inexplicable burden that comes with fame. Call it doubt, call it fear. I’ve had mine and I know the famous in the room have had theirs," Costner said at the ceremony held in Houston's childhood church in New Jersey. "The Whitney I knew was still wondering if 'I’m good enough. Am I pretty enough? Will they like me?' It was what made her great, and what caused her to stumble at the end."
Now that Costner has learned that Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown is fighting for her life, his heart goes out to her. "I was sad, obviously," the actor told People after he learned about Bobbi Kristina. "That family's under a lot of stress right now, just an enormous amount of stress...I can't imagine."
Costner told People that he hadn't spoken to Brown for a while, but "I really hope she's okay." (People)
