Johnny Depp, 51, and Amber Heard, 28, are officially married, People reports. There had been rumors that the couple was planning to wed this coming weekend at Depp's private island estate in the Bahamas, but they made it legal at their home in L.A. today.
The couple first met on the set of The Rum Diary in 2011. The Mortdecai actor openly discussed his engagement on Letterman in spring 2014. The two hit a bit of a rough patch late last year, when Depp reportedly embarrassed Heard during a drunken speech at the Hollywood Film Awards. But, they were hot and heavy during a recent red carpet appearance.
This is the second marriage for Depp, who was briefly married to Lori Anne Allison in the mid-'80s. He had a long relationship with Vanessa Paradis, with whom he has two children. This is Heard's first marriage.
