The fashion industry is full of nuts. There's "Alpha Nut" Anna Wintour, Kanye "I am a Nut!" West, and "NUTorious" Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci. At least, that's how illustrator (and Insta-famous) Donald Robertson sees them. "Fashion is nuts," he writes on the site for his latest project, a new 40-page zine out today that features the style elite as characters crafted from walnuts. "Whether it’s Edie Campbell dressed in nothing but body paint and a headdress, or Iris Apfel sitting front row wearing her signature glasses and dressed in red fur, fashion is and has always been wondrously mad."
“In a world ruled by focus groups and 10-person creative committees, it gives me enormous pleasure to see an insane idea wheat-pasted all over New York City," Karl Cyprien, the project's producer told Refinery29. And, what's not to love? In the midst of Fashion Week, we could all use a punny, stylish pick-me-up that reminds us that fashion doesn't need to be taken so damn seriously. Crack into the comical portraits in the slideshow ahead.
