Color us dumbfounded. Taylor Swift and Kanye West are working on music together. Talk about shaking off the past.
In an interview with Ryan Seacrest, Yeezy said Swift was eager to get into the studio with him. "She wants to get in the studio and we’re definitely going to go in," West told the radio host. "Any artist with an amazing point of view, perspective, fan base, I’m down to get in the studio and work. I don’t discriminate."
It's true. Just last year, West worked with Swift's bestie, Lorde, on The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1 soundtrack, putting his twist on her original song "Yellow Flicker Beat." The news of Sweezy (can we start calling them that?) working together comes days after the two appeared to make amends for West's 2009 VMAs interruption where he stole the mic from Swift to announce that Beyoncé had the best video of all time.
West also clarified his statements regarding his most recent awards show interruption with Beck to Seacrest, saying "Beck is one of the nicest guys and one of the most respected musicians in the game." He assured listeners that he would never want to do anything disrespectful to another musician. Alright, well, perhaps he needs to hit the studio with Beck to prove it. Let's see what Sweezy season brings first. (Vanity Fair)
