So Weird It Works: The Detachable Turtleneck

If a snood and a dickie had a baby, it would become one of those famous celebrity babies due to all the screen time it enjoyed during yesterday’s BCBG MaxAzria show. This singular accessory was utilized in a variety of looks from structured jackets to shapeless (but still wow-worthy) dresses. 
Blame it on the 10-degree weather we woke up to this morning, but we’re digging this styling trick. The piece stands up on its own, acting as a proxy limb of the garment it sits atop. We especially like it when it goes tone-on-tone, adding to the luxe-ness of a monochromatic look. Or, try it in contrasting tones to punch up the drama of your outfit.
Of course, turtlenecks and snoods already look great under jackets, but this statement-making piece is practical and ups the ante on any outerwear when worn over a jacket. Translation: If someone wore it this week (instead of fall '15, when the detachable dickie turtleneck snood comes out), it’d get even more airtime from street-style photographers.  Now, if only that someone were us...
