You Wore This Nonstop In 2002 & You’re About To Again

There was a time in your life when you couldn't imagine getting dressed without putting a lace cami on. You had them in every single color and variation. You wore your jewel-tone ones out at night with bootcut jeans. You wore your black ones underneath cardigans to work. Those pastel ones with the extra-long hem paired perfectly under your V-neck shirts (with a push-up bra). You were naked without one. You were nothing without one — until you somehow weaned yourself and moved on.
But, goodbye is never really goodbye with old loves, and rag & bone had us confronting the lace cami again in its fall '15 collection. There were blips of nostalgia — camis over long, tissue-thin tees and worn with pencil skirts, for example — but the fresh-feeling puffer vests and trousers provided a new perspective that felt much more 2015 than 2000. Plus, the dress versions were a lovely update to the recent slip-dress resurgence, and we're already planning to wear ours all spring long (and with our turtlenecks until then).
