The PostSecret App Has Officially Returned

Frank Warren took his famous secret sharing site to the app world in 2011. The PostSecret App was shut down three months later. Warren told Fortune he "felt that it was no longer a safe place to share secrets."  Today, the PostSecret world has returned to the App Store under a new moniker: The PostSecret Universe.  Now, users can continue to further the community of secrets in new ways. Though no new secrets can be generated (the older project was dropped after malicious content was created), there's an audio component and search tool that helps discover secrets through thematic threads, in addition to introducing users to the backstories of secrets. Collation tools allow users to generate a collection of secrets, so you don't have to go about saving the ones you identify with like you used to on your desktop. (Or, was that just me?) Warren and his team have even gone and made a social element that enables the sharing of secrets between friends over e-mail and other social media platforms.  It's a bit more than the original app (topping off at $7.99), but worth every penny. Speaking with Refinery29 at the release of PostSecret's most recent book, The World of PostSecret, Warren said, "Through this project, I’ve uncovered secrets I was keeping from myself." Perhaps its now expanded universe will do the same for you.
