Here in New York, the most exclusive table is at Ralph Lauren's brand-new Polo Bar. In L.A. — and especially ahead of Sunday's Academy Award show — it's at the perennially hip Sunset Tower where earlier this week, George Clooney and newly betrothed Amal Alamuddin enjoyed a double-date with Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher.
On Wednesday, the fab four were spotted dining in the Paul Fortune-decorated Tower Bar, a glamorous boîte housed in OG mobster Bugsy Siegel's old apartment. No surprise then that the establishment boasts "discreet niche seating for privacy," according to the website.
Yet not discreet enough, as Page Six is already spinning industry rumors of the evening: "Even jaded Hollywood heads swiveled to catch a glimpse of [Alamuddin's] very short navy skirt, and very long legs," the publication reports.
We wonder which "jaded Hollywood heads" are spoken of. Perhaps it was Birdman star Michael Keaton, who showed up later in the night and took time to say hello to a former Batman, Mr. Clooney. Perhaps it was a publicist. Perhaps it was a made-up fairy creature and none of this ever happened — but hey, it's Hollywood.
Regardless, did anyone snap a picture of the night? Kind of like this one? We'd love to inquire about the Amal's skirt — spring is just weeks away, after all. (Page Six)
