5 Reasons This Daring Collection Is Totally Wearable

There are two types of shows during Fashion Week: the ones that make you go, "ooooh," and the ones that make you go, "mmhm." The first kind inspires a sort of voyeuristic sentiment. These are the over-the-top gowns and garments you'll see on red carpets or keep reserved for special occasions only (Balmain, darling, we're looking longingly at you). The latter sort of show elicits a series of knowing confirmations as you make a mental checklist of items you'll want to wear on a daily basis, outfit-by-outfit. Carven fits squarely in this second category — in the best way possible.
The brand's cuts and color combinations are so forward-thinking yet so universally appealing that we can see ourselves adopting the styling tricks from Carven's Paris runway show as soon as, say, right now. Although the label's cropped baby-flares and brightly patterned après-ski-style jackets may seem unwearable, we say, au contraire! In fact, it's these very silhouettes that we'll be adopting come fall '15 — thin-belted mohair sweater over mini-pencil skirt and all.
Ahead, we make a case for five outfits you never knew you'd want to try but will as soon as you get your hands on these threads. Say it with us now, "mmhm."
