These Dior Shoes Are Gonna Be EVERYWHERE

Fashion reviews are really just gut checks: When you know, you know, and when it's good, it's good. In the case of the Christian Dior fall '15 show that took over the Louvre yesterday, we really knew, and it was really good. What particularly stood out were the shoes. Not just any shoes, but lucite-heeled, patent-leather, candy-colored boots. It was no coincidence that the song playing as they came down the runway was called "Hot on The Heels of Love." With these heels, we are in love.
It's not that we didn't like the tunics over skirts, the multi-tiered shift dresses, or the cuffed-ankle suits. But, the shoes were what instantly grabbed our attention. They'd look just as good under jeans as they would with a dress, they're actually fun, and they won't scuff on the streets. Judging from the many blurry-toed pictures popping up on Instagram, other showgoers agreed: These shoes are going to make the most impact commercially, come fall.
What does this mean for us? Well, for those of us who want to splurge, it means we'll be marking our calendars and counting down the days till they hit stores. Because, really, we can start wearing these boots in any of the various colors — from rich amber to robin's-egg blue — come late August. And, for those of us who want the look without dropping the dough, it means we'll have to rummage for a similar pair from our favorite vintage shops (Hey, it could happen!), or wait for the fashion zeitgeist to make its way down the patent-and-lucite road. No, the fast-fashion versions won't be nearly as good as the real things, but if it means having boots that look like these on our feet, we'll take what we can get.
