Page Six wants to be starting something between Cara Delevingne and Naomi Campbell. The paper is reporting that the two got into a bit of a tiff at an event during Paris Fashion Week. Well, Page Six is calling it a catfight, but that's not a word we want to have in our vocabulary in 2015.
"The models apparently got into a fight over their mutual friend Rihanna while at a chic party," the site reported. A witness said that "Naomi accused Cara of 'disrespecting' Rihanna and started yelling, before Naomi pushed Cara, who pushed back." Yet another bystander added that "Cara pulled Naomi's weave, but it didn't come off."
That last part was, of course, turned into a big, bold block quote. Le sigh. You hear me?
Later in the same article, another source said that it was a packed party in a tiny club, and if anyone bumped into anyone else, it was purely unintentional. Yet another person told Page Six that Campbell was saying "nonsensical things" and "ranting," leading to a "messy pushing match" because Delevingne didn't want to be involved in an argument.
According to Naomi and Cara, there was no fight at all. "Don't even know where this story has come from about @Caradelevingne and I fighting! It is completely untrue, ignore the rumors XN," Campbell tweeted, and Delevingne soon retweeted.
Let's choose to believe the version of events from the sources themselves, rather than anonymous witnesses eager to speak to gossip pages. Even if Naomi and Cara did fight, they appear to have moved past it. Great. Let's all do the same. (Page Six)
