Punxsutawney Phil’s official word isn’t the only sign of spring’s arrival. When Taylor Swift dusts off her beloved high-waisted hot pants from the depths of her closet is when you really know the changing of seasons is imminent. Yesterday in L.A., Taylor embraced early March in her favorite pair of retro short-shorts. To balance out the tiny bottoms, she added a crewneck crop top with a swingy silhouette. Together, the two simple pieces make for a memorable look.
The outfit is classic Taylor, with the exception of one major curveball. Rather than the usual schoolgirl oxfords or cutesy Keds she typically wears to run errands, the singer elevated her look — literally speaking — with 5 1/2-inch Prada platforms. No wonder Taylor just insured her legs for a cool $40 million.
She finished the look with a porkpie topper, oxblood Cambridge Satchel bag, and a swipe of rosy lipstick. But, none of that mattered much, because when you’re wearing those shoes, nothing else really does.
