She's gonna make you, make you notice her. The Pretenders lead singer and guitarist Chrissie Hynde is set to release a memoir in early September. The book will chronicle everything from the 63-year-old's humble beginnings in Akron, Ohio to her evolution into punk rock royalty. One thing is for sure — there will definitely be some amazing rock 'n roll gems within its pages — Hynde moved from Akron to London when she was just 22, wrote for music mag NME, was part of an early version of The Clash, and founded The Pretenders in 1978. Her life seems pretty interesting, no? "I’m approaching writing this memoir much the same way as I would an album," Hynde revealed to The New York Times. "I hope it makes you want to dance, have fun, dig out some old records and maybe even root through your closet and dust off your guitar."

According to The New York Times, the book sold at auction for a reported seven figures and will be released by American publishing company Doubleday. "Chrissie is so incredibly frank, intimate and witty," Hynde's editor Gerry Howard said. "She has been involved in so much rich rock ‘n’ roll history – that there seems to be a surprise on every page."
