For those who’ve been keeping up, Kendall Jenner has been repping Calvin Klein for over a year now — posing in the brand’s logo undies as part of it social media campaign last year. Now, the brand that's credited with putting Kate Moss on the map has officially partnered with the world's most talked about newcomer for it’s latest #MyCalvins denim collection.
As WWD announced today, the Jenner-fronted line — which will be available at Opening Ceremony come April 15 — takes cues from athletic and street wear, combining the two in styles that master that casual, simple, never-sloppy aesthetic CK does so well. And, Kendall serves up the same kind of relaxed vibes in the accompanying photographs that show her posing in cozy sweat shorts, overalls paired with a mesh bra, and cropped, logo-printed sweatshirts with high-waisted jeans. Sure, she looks great, but Calvin Klein’s choice in model also has a bit to do with her popularity.
“Kendall’s powerful fan base and global reach will further amplify the current cultural conversation surrounding the Calvin Klein Jeans brand and highlight this exciting limited edition,” Melisa Goldie, the brand’s chief marketing officer told WWD. Not only could Kendall’s images garner more social media engagement than a roundup of weird cat photos, the new #MyCalvins campaign will also place Kendall in a much more hard-to-ignore kind of place. Namely, on billboards in Los Angeles and New York, as well as in Europe. Mark that down as another career first for the 19-year-old. (WWD)
