After winning three trophies at the iHeartRadio Music Awards the other night, Taylor Swift hit the town to presumably pop bottles. Before heading out to a club in West Hollywood, she left behind her sparkly black cut-out dress and changed into something a little more laid-back — and a whole lot more attainable. She ditched her KaufmanFranco number, which would surely set you back at least a couple thousand, for a sleek A-line skirt from Brandy Melville that costs a mere $28.
At this point, it’s safe to say Taylor’s love of bargains is matched only by her affinity for collecting awards. But, that doesn’t mean she can’t appreciate a well-placed luxury piece or two. Here, she upgrades her high-street skater skirt with suede Prada platforms. They’re just fancy enough to elevate the simple cotton mini and striped long-sleeved T-shirt, but they also bring an edge that strappy stilettos wouldn’t. It’s a good lesson in knowing how to save and splurge. Taylor doesn’t necessarily need to do a whole lot of the former, but it’s nice to think she’s looking out for our bank balances, too.
