Facebook’s Massive, Frank Gehry-Designed Campus Is INSANE

Ever since Facebook announced its plans for a Frank Gehry-designed headquarters, we’ve been dying for a sneak peek. Well, the day has finally arrived. Facebook employees have officially started moving into their palatial new Menlo Park digs (known as MPK 20). And, to celebrate, the company invited artists and Instagram influencers (including R29 faves Karen Doolittle and Emma Fineman) to check out the space. 

With 9 acres of rooftop greenery (that's seven football fields) and an open interior that's filled with light, the building itself is impressive, but understated — which was completely intentional. "[Mark Zuckerberg] did not want it overly designed," Gehry explained to Business Insider. "It also had to be flexible to respond to the ever-changing nature of his business; one that facilitated collaboration and one that did not impose itself on their open and transparent culture."

To help balance the rawness of the design, Facebook worked with 15 Bay Area artists to create site-specific works that abstractly reflect the brand ethos.
