Fox News host Chris Wallace publicly apologized to Kelly Clarkson on Sunday for comments he made about her weight.
In a statement to People, Wallace said, "I sincerely apologize to Kelly Clarkson for my offensive comment. I admire her remarkable talent, and that should have been the focus of my discussion about her."
This apology comes after Clarkson became the center of a fat-shaming conversation between Wallace and Mike Gallagher. During an appearance on The Mike Gallagher Show on Friday, Wallace responded to Gallagher's assertion that Clarkson had "blown up" physically. Wallace responded, "She could stay off the deep dish pizza for a little while."
Clarkson doesn't seem to have acknowledged Wallace's statements — at least, the singer hasn't addressed it on any of her social media outlets. And, why should she focus on the negativity one man chose to spread when there are Easter egg hunts and the long-awaited arrival of spring to celebrate?
