What Amal Clooney Wears On A Lunch Date

One of the most enviable things about Amal Clooney — okay, other than her major career and not-so-shabby husband — is her ability to effortlessly wear anything. She does mini skirts for date night, pulls off black-tie gowns for award shows, and slips into business casual for classes at Columbia. It seems there’s no silhouette she can’t successfully wear, but the most recent is certainly the most impressive.
Yesterday, she was photographed leaving Morandi after lunch wearing one of the trickiest shapes around: a ‘70s-inspired kick-pleated, below-the-knee skirt. She paired the camel-colored Gucci piece with a bright orange sleeveless blouse by the same label. And, while an ordinary collar would have made the whole thing a little bit too buttoned-up, rendered in snakeskin, it’s just the right amount of sophisticated cool. It also means she can skip accessories and focus on other stuff, like being a big-deal human rights lawyer and saving the world. She forwent jewelry altogether, and finished the outfit with simple — but expertly styled — laser-cut L.K. Bennett heels, a Balenciaga tote, and a blowout. Get the whole look ahead (and book an appointment at Drybar while you’re at it).
