Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson crashed the Valentino runway show, took selfies with Anna Wintour, and nearly broke the Internet with their surprise announcement in March that the Zoolander sequel was a go. Given all the hype surrounding the news of the film, it's crazy to think that the cast hadn't even started shooting the actual movie until just this week.
But, according to Stiller's Instagram, filming for the flick is officially underway. The actor and director posted a snap two days ago on set in Italy, captioned "First Day of shooting down!" Derek Zoolander's Blue Steel pose and spiky, black hair might be conspicuously MIA in his on-set selfie, but don't worry — judging from the Valentino appearance, the model's signature lewks will be returning in full force.
According to IMDB, the story reportedly follows Derek Zoolander (Stiller) and his former enemy-turned-pal Hansel (Owen Wilson) as they make their long-awaited return to male modeling. However, problems arise when an opposing company threatens to take them down.
With a rumored appearance by Karlie Kloss and Kristen Wiig as a guest star, this is a movie that's not only going to be really, really, ridiculously good-looking, it's shaping up to be well worth the wait — a 14-year wait, to be exact. So, whip up an orange mocha frappuccino and click through for a sneak peek at the film, courtesy of Stiller himself.
