Canadians were in despair on Friday when one of their greatest national treasures was put in peril. We're speaking, of course, of Ryan Reynolds.
The actor was in Vancouver filming Deadpool when he was struck by a car driven by a member of the paparazzi, the Associated Press reports. The new father was not injured.
"While walking, Ryan was struck by a paparazzi driving a car through an underground parking garage," publicist Leslie Sloane told the AP. "The man fled the scene. Ryan is okay."
It remains unclear whether or not the driver was identified or if charges will be filed. In the meantime, Reynolds appears to be taking the hit-and-run in stride. Here's his response to a tweet from the CBC about his condition.

For non-Canucks, Beachcombers was apparently a long-running TV show that ended in 1990. Learn something new every day, eh?
