Schmidt’s Idea For A New Girl Baby Shower Is Pretty Great

There are three things we know to be true about New Girl's Schmidt. He and Cece are beshert, he has a douchebag jar, and he hates street youths.  But, we still have a lot of questions for Max Greenfield.  We spoke with the actor thanks to his new partnership with Trulia Boards, which lets you organize apartments and houses you're interested in, and share them with your potential roommates. So, this felt like a good time to ask Greenfield if he's a good roommate in real life.   "Debatable. Depends on what day it is," he told us. "I think every day is a new day, and we have a child in the house. Dependent on how our daughter slept, maybe I'm a good roommate in the morning, maybe I'm not, independent of any behaviors I might have."  Sounds suspect, considering Schmidt is the annoying roommate in the New Girl household, but we'll choose to believe him. Also, maybe it's time we stop calling him Schmidt. He's not the only one on TV with that moniker anymore. When asked what he thinks of The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, he had only glowing things to say about Ellie Kemper.   "Ellie's the funniest person on TV. I love her so much. She's so funny." Great, but when will we learn your character's first name? Seems like the best way to tell them apart, no?  "I don't even know what the name is," Greenfield said. "I've kind of put it out of my head. God forbid I guessed correctly right now. Could you imagine?" Fair enough. One last thing: Are you and the guys going to throw a baby shower for Zooey Deschanel?  He says they haven't yet, but are thinking about it. "Maybe like an on-set food truck or something." As someone who's filled out one too many baby-shower bingo cards, I can tell you that's the best idea you've ever had, Schmidt.
