Sandra Bullock Named “World’s Most Beautiful Woman”

To be honest, we take the annual People crowning with a gallon of salt. How can one woman be more beautiful than literally everyone else on the planet? What makes her the most beautiful one year, and not the next? Why so much focus on looks? That said, even we have to admit that we're delighted with this year's selection: Sandra Bullock. This morning, it was revealed that the 50-year-old (yes, really) actress is People's World's Most Beautiful Woman of 2015, and it's a nice thing. Not because she is, in fact, gorgeous. Because she's Sandra Bullock. She's cool, she's confident, she's down to earth, she's funny, she lets people call her Sandy, and she gives the impression that all that outer beauty just might reflect what's on the inside.  Case in point: The fact that she thinks winning the title is "ridiculous." She'd also much rather talk about being a good mother to her 5-year-old son, Louis, than what skin cream she uses (not that we wouldn't mind knowing that).  "Real beauty is quiet," the Oscar winner told the magazine. "Especially in this town, it's just so hard not to say, 'Oh, I need to look like that.' No, be a good person, be a good mom, do a good job with the lunch, let someone cut in front of you who looks like they're in a bigger hurry. The people I find most beautiful are the ones who aren't trying."    When it comes to Louis, she needn't try.  "I was putting him to bed and told him that even when I'm old and gray and more wrinkly than I am now, I'll still love him and want to tuck him in," she shared. "And, he asked why I have wrinkles, and I said, 'Well, I hope some of them are from laughing so much.' He touched my face and said, 'You're not old, you're just happy.'"   Here come the waterworks. Not surprisingly, Bullock's distinction has gone over well in the Twittersphere. A few comments:
