Update: Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher posted a video response to the supposed chicken lawsuit. They joke about the improbabilities involved in Karo's claim, such as the fact that she and Kunis are seven years apart in age, and the supposed theft would have occurred when Karo was only one month old. Kunis and Kutcher also allege the suit is all in the name of publicity for Karo's new music video. You can watch the whole thing right here. This story was originally published on April 22, 2015:
Today in lawsuits that'll make you say hmmmmmm?, Mila Kunis is being sued for stealing a chicken. This is a real thing that is happening, and not the plot of a Family Guy episode. The suit is a long time coming, apparently, as it's based on an event that allegedly happened over 25 years ago in Ukraine.  According to a woman named Kristina Karo, she and Kunis were best friends in first grade. Karo had a pet chicken named Doggie, which the suit claims she loved like a dog. Whether or not that's relevant we'll leave up to the courts to decide. Anyway, one day Doggie up and disappeared, and Karo is claiming that Kunis confessed to stealing the bird. Young Kunis told her friend that she could have any other chicken as a pet, as she lived on a chicken farm. Karo wanted Doggie, though, not just any ol' mother clucker. Now, 25 years later, Kunis is a successful actress, and Karo has also relocated to L.A. to pursue a singing career. Being this close to her old friend — the alleged chicken thief — has brought back memories of Doggie, Karo claims in the suit. She's suing Kunis for $5,000, which includes therapy costs and emotional duress. Karo also says that Kunis' actions have prevented her from pursuing the American dream.  Once again, this is a real lawsuit. Any resemblance to the following event is completely coincidental. (TMZ)
