It's not an easy choice for an actress to decide if and when she's up for doing nude scenes. But, for Elizabeth Olsen, she's got it figured out. In a new interview with Net-A-Porter, the Avengers: Age Of Ultron actress shares her feelings on doing nude scenes.
For her, it took seeing Kate Winslet performing nude to feel comfortable about doing it herself. "I remember watching Holy Smoke and thinking that it was so reassuring to see a young Kate doing something that was so bold in so many ways," she told Net-A-Porter. "I thought to myself, 'Okay, so it doesn't destroy your career if you appear nude or take risks.'"
Olsen explained that, while she now feels fine with it, her nearest and dearest were concerned. "Not everyone in my family and group of friends thought it was the best idea to be naked in a movie. There are actresses, young and old, who have decided never to do that, and they become these examples people talk to you about."
Regardless of her fear of becoming a cautionary tale for other young actresses, she told NAP she enjoys doing nudity sometimes. "You want that voyeuristic quality, but I never feel I have to be nude." Plus, she's drawn her own lines in the sand for when and how she appears nude. "You won't ever see me in a beauty shot in a bikini on a beach. That's a character I will never play." (Net-A-Porter)
