Something old, something new, something borrowed, something peekaboo.
There's an Emperor's New Clothes moment happening in bridal, specifically with Vera Wang's new gowns. For spring 2016, the iconic bridal-gown designer is taking a less-is-more approach. As in less material, more body.
Unconventional brides with excellent lingerie collections might not be fazed by Wang's ethereal array of sheer, knicker-exposing designs. And, there's always the possibility of pairing these stunning creations with discrete slips to keep from being too exposed. But, let's face it — do you really want to glide down the aisle in your underwear, with just a thin layer of the finest lace as a barrier?
There might be some gasping or fainting among your more conservative guests. On the other hand, your honeymoon will be off to a promising start, your bridesmaids will think you're a badass, and all the attendees will know that nobody's going to mess with this bride.
Still, it's pretty lavish to throw thousands of dollars at something that leaves you barely more dressed than you were to begin with. Is bare the new bridal, or will we be back to covering our bums by June? The answer is: Who cares? These are gorgeous, regardless of whether you'll actually entertain the thought of wearing them. Click ahead to peruse the new collection.
