When it comes to the arts, Jake Gyllenhaal is a jack-of-all-trades. Between films, plays and now musicals, he does it all. However, his latest confession takes the cake, and perhaps sheds light on where all of his talent originated.
In a conversation with Ellen DeGeneres about his love life or lack thereof, Gyllenhaal mentioned that we was once in a boy band. "I was in a really, really bad band in high school," he said. The infamous band, Hole Shot, is one of those laughable parts of his past he'd like to leave behind — much like everyone else who's had a similar experience. Gyllenhaal seems like he's well on his way, though, as he had a difficult time describing what kind of music they played. "It was rock music, I guess," he said with hesitation. Additionally, he was fuzzy on the songwriting part. "Did you write the songs?" Ellen asked. "No, I was just a lyricist," he responded. Uh, Jake, that's what we'd call someone who writes the songs.
