Dakota Johnson Proves That Body-Con Is Cool Again

No shade intended to Christian and Co., but Dakota Johnson’s emergence as a fashion icon just might be the best thing to come out of Fifty Shades of Grey. Granted, the Hollywood offspring was no slouch in the style department to begin with. But, photos ops have been nonstop since the movie premiered, and Dakota seems to top herself every time she steps outside. 

Naturally, yesterday was no exception. She was spotted wearing a body-con minidress not unlike the ancient Forever 21 number you probably have in the back of your closet. (We're going to go ahead and assume hers was not from Forever 21, though.) But, she gave it a modern spin by layering it under a black and boxy cropped jean jacket. The clever play on proportions made the dress look relevant and refreshing — and, much to our relief, not at all club-ready. Western-inspired cheetah-print boots added a playful touch to the outfit, though perhaps Johnson's most conspicuous accessory was her rock-star boyfriend.
