Byfleet Manor in Surrey, England, is best known to Americans as the Dower House, home to Lady Violet Crawley (played by Dame Maggie Smith) on Downton Abbey. You might also recognize it from last year's blockbuster musical Into The Woods, in which it played home to Cinderella (Anna Kendrick).
The pedigreed estate features eight bedrooms and four reception rooms, all sitting on a stately 19 acres. The manor has also hosted many a royal, including (but not limited to) King Edward I, Henry VIII, Katharine of Aragon, and Queen Elizabeth I. Not too shabby.
The Manor in its present condition has been standing since 1686, although the first recorded history of the property dates back to a remarkable 1086 AD. Click through to take a tour of the impressive manor, currently on the market for $6 million.
