UPDATE: Model/actress Chrissy Teigen and her hubby, crooner John Legend, are planning to list their Nolita apartment, The Real Deal reports. John Legend and Chrissy Teigen aren't ones to play by the rules. So, it's no surprise that when it came to searching for a Manhattan apartment, they were looking for the exact opposite of what everyone else generally covets — specifically, a place without grandiose views.
"We wanted a place that was, you know, much more homey and had more soul to it," Legend says in the latest issue of Architectural Digest. The space, situated between Nolita and Little Italy, certainly has that character: The decor is warm and welcoming, thanks to designer Don Stewart, and the kitchen (arguably Teigen's favorite room) offers the ultimate privacy — partly because it stares directly at a brick wall. "I absolutely love this," Teigen says of the view. "I'd rather have a wall than a view of the Empire State Building."
To most New Yorkers, that might sound positively insane. But, after seeing pics of Legend and Teigen's luxe apartment, we just might be forced to reconsider our position on fancy skyline vistas. Click through to take a tour of the loft-style abode.
