It's been a week since Caitlyn Jenner introduced herself to the world on the cover of Vanity Fair. Since then, she's been using social media to share her experiences. (Her Twitter account reached a million followers in record time.) On Saturday, Jenner shared a special picture on Instagram that shows just how much support she's getting from those around her.
The Instagram shows Jenner and a group of friends interlocked, facing the mountains. "Learn from those who have walked the path before you," she captioned the image. She also added a couple of choice hashtags, including #TransIsBeautiful and #LivingOurTruth.
What's nice about this particular moment is that it highlights what Laverne Cox was talking about a few days ago. #TransIsBeautiful isn't meant to address the physical aspects of beauty, but the idea behind someone who can embrace their trans identity. The focus of this image isn't about filter choices and duck faces. Instead, it's about the support system Jenner has in place. And, if that isn't beautiful, we don't know what is.
