Vanessa Hudgens Wears An Under-$100 Urban Outfitters Dress

Based on Fashion Week runways and celebrity sightings as of late, it seems that '60s, '70s, '80s, and '90s sartorial throwbacks are all the rage right now. But things can get tricky when you decide to mix a bunch of prints, colors, and/or silhouettes from different decades into just one outfit. It’s easy for one detail to overshadow another — or worse, you might end up looking like a walking vintage-boutique sale rack.
So let’s look to Vanessa Hudgens — who seems to have an affinity for the '70s, what with her love of music festivals and flower crowns — as she merged a few retro accents for a totally now summery street-style look in New York. She started out with a '90s-inspired, printed maxi-dress by Ecote and paired it with equally Clinton-era, double-strapped slingback heels. Then she brought in a hippie vibe with a fringed leather bag by Kenneth Cole. Time jumped back yet another decade with her mod, circular sunglasses by The Row by Linda Farrow Gallery. She finished off her look with a combo of chunky and delicate bracelets and loads of gold chains, plus a choker, which is so '90s. By keeping her color palette consistent, Vanessa successfully wore 30+ years of sartorial references in just one outfit.
