Shocker upon shockers: Bristol Palin isn't a fan of Miley Cyrus.
The eldest daughter of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin has taken the pop star to task for comments made in her recent interview with Paper. It seems the Alaskan native caught wind of Cyrus' negative comments about conservative Christians on Fox News, and she isn't happy about it. In fact, she devoted an entire blog post to the matter on June 11.
Palin responded to the singer's references to "fundamentalist lawmakers" and "conservative-ass motherfuckers" by calling the interview "a hilarious tirade about tolerance."
"Miley later went on to drop lots of profanity as she described her parents’ conservative political views and anyone who might believe Biblical stories like Noah’s Ark are actually true," Palin continued.
"Is it just me or does it seem more than a little fake that someone claiming to be accepting of everyone and everything would spew such judgment towards her own parents and their deeply held religious beliefs?
"She wants everyone else to let her be 'free to be Miley,' but seems unwilling to offer the same respect to her parents and those who wish to live out their Christian faith.
"Oh, Miley. Thanks for giving us the best example of what 'tolerance' looks like in Hollywood: it looks a lot like contempt."
Palin may have a point, but it's worth noting that Cyrus was referring to fundamentalists making laws that were detrimental to the LGBT community. Can Palin really pretend that conservative Christians are as tolerant of others as she expects Miley Cyrus to be?
