One of Iggy Azalea's biggest PR problems has been her propensity to say every unfiltered thing that comes to mind. That's not always a bad thing, mind you — goodness knows we love an outspoken celebrity — but it has caused some grief for the Australian rapper. Earlier this month, she canceled her performance at Pittsburgh's Pride celebration after causing offense with homophobic tweets.
Her latest mouthy moment is certainly less extreme, but has not been without drama. When asked about the lagging success of "Pretty Girls," her single with Britney Spears, Azalea seemed to pin the blame on her collaborator and the song's underwhelming promotion.
"It’s difficult to send a song up the charts without additional promo and TV performances,” she wrote. “I would have enjoyed performing it a lot, I think it got off to a powerful start. But you need content to compete in 2015.”
In other words, someone wasn't pulling their weight, and Iggy's not going to pretend otherwise. Though a relatively mild one, it's just another example of the music star rubbing people the wrong way with her words. No topic is off-limits, be it hip-hop culture, the LGBTQ community, or whether or not R. Kelly is a suitable choice as a wedding singer
