Congratulations: We've officially entered the dog days of summer. The weather is hot, the days are long, and luckily, the local goings-on are ridiculously fun. The 4th of July may be this month's main event — and we've got you covered with hotdog- and fireworks-fueled happenings — but the other, less-hyped 30 days are shaping up to be just as exciting in the City of Angels.
So what can you expect to fill your iCal with this time around? There's the largest event L.A. has hosted since the 1984 Olympics, for starters. (No big deal.) A craft fair and a duo of DIY workshops are beckoning for the artistically inclined, while free outdoor concerts, hot surfers and soccer players rolling into town, and a Sarah Silverman standup show sweeten the deal. Click through for all 21 of our must-see events to pencil in now.
