Why Did Lily Allen Burn A Kanye Flag At Glastonbury?

Glastonbury might be over, but it's not quite yet behind us. Lily Allen recently decided to take a stand against attendees who rebuffed Kanye's presence at the U.K. music fest. The "Air Balloon" singer posted a photo of herself to Instagram yesterday, in which she's seen burning a big white flag emblazoned with the phrase "Fuck Off Kanye."

"[T]he flag said FUCK OFF KANYE. so I burned it till it said just KANYE," Allen captioned the post. "Don't go for dinner at someone's house and tell them their food sucks. i should be clear that this picture was taken BEFORE Kanye played on Saturday." The singer does have a point. Glastonbury draws nearly 200,000 music fans to its stages, and it's impossible to please them all. So if you're not into Kanye, why not just skip his show and see an artist you actually support instead of tearing down one you don't? On the other hand, festivals are nothing if not a venue for self-expression, and going after this one outspoken message seems a bit counter the event's freewheeling ethos.
