Jennifer Garner & Ben Affleck Took A Family Vacation After Announcing Their Divorce

Imagine having to announce the demise of your marriage to a public that was way too invested in your private relationship, after tabloid headlines had been loudly heralding that it had been crumbling for years. You'd probably want to be on a tropical island somewhere when the news was revealed, too. When Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced that they were divorcing after 10 years of marriage on June 30, they were already in the Bahamas with their three kids. Smart move. The couple spent the week there, which was probably the best way to avoid the rabid flock of paparazzi surely camped out in front of their California home. Of course, some long-range telephoto lens wielders did manage to find them in the Bahamas, and People — who also received the couple's divorce announcement exclusive — has the photos. In the pictures, Affleck and Garner are sitting side by side on a dock. An onlooker told People that they appeared to be having a "serious" and "somber conversation" that was rather short. "They would look at each other and speak and then both look away in silence. A lot of the time, they seemed to just stare off into space," the onlooker added. So, basically just a conversation as completely interpreted by a third-party observer. Still, Affleck and Garner seem to be going more of the conscious uncoupling route for the sake of their three kids. People previously reported that "they plan to continue living on the same property," and they'll also be filing for joint custody of Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel. After their family vacation, Ben Affleck is jetting off to Comic-Con for a Batman v Superman panel. Jennifer Garner is headed to Atlanta to film Miracles From Heaven. (People)
