Love him or loathe him, it must be acknowledged that Scott Disick is going through quite the rough patch. He recently split with Kourtney Kardashian, is estranged from his family, and is facing reports of infidelity and visits to rehab. You don't have to like the guy, but, well...none of this can be very fun for him.
Amidst all the drama, the reality star has reached out to his daughter, Penelope. The tot turned 3 yesterday, and, in the absence of an in-person visit, he sent the birthday girl an Instagram montage with a pretty heartbreaking caption. Equally heartbreaking is the fact that each photo appears to be a paparazzi shot, not the sort of personal photo a father would keep of his only daughter.

Just, ugh. That's pretty depressing. It's also a lot to unload on a toddler. Most 3-year-olds get ice cream cakes and bouncy castles. Poor Penelope has gotten a messy breakup and a father who may mean well, but doesn't appear to be putting his kids first at the moment.
Some things just don't feel like they ought to be aired on Instagram. Reaching out directly to his daughter might have been a better move than displaying his sentiments on social media. Is it us, or is all of this very hard to watch?
